Barry Cronin is the editor of Chicago District Golfer, an award‑winning magazine reaching 112,000 CDGA members with in‑depth travel features covering regional, national, and international golf destinations. He brings 17 years of daily journalism experience from the City News Bureau of Chicago, the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay Times, and the Chicago Sun‑Times, where he also covered the golf beat. After transitioning from newspapers into PR and entrepreneurial work, he continued to shape the golf industry through media leadership roles. Since 2000, he has served as media director for the John Deere Classic, managed PR for major championships in Chicago, and supported tournament communications for the Western Golf Association. Returning to magazine leadership has allowed him to blend his editorial expertise, industry insight, and passion for storytelling, making Chicago District Golfer a trusted voice in Midwest golf.
